ENGlobal begins defining the analyzer system requirements by completing a  physical survey of the plant along with interviews with plant engineers, technicians and operators. Locations of sample taps, analyzer houses, utilities and control rooms are essential pieces of information to be obtained.


Process Data & Required Measurements

ENGlobal gathers pertinent process and stream composition data. Operators and engineers are questioned to determine real operating maximums and minimums of pressure and temperature. At this point, there is further definition of the measurements required and how the data is to be used, recorded, and transmitted.


Specify, Select, & Procure Analyzers

Utilizing the information gathered and the defined process requirements, ENGlobal prepares specifications and analyzer data sheets. These documents are used to request quotations from analyzer vendors and to purchase the analyzers. The measurement requirements and the process conditions/compositions are taken into account when selecting an analyzer that will make the best measurement. Additionally, maintainability and ease of operation are also part of the evaluation.  All equipment is expedited to maintain schedules and complex analyzers are inspected and tested at the analyzer manufacturers prior to shipment.


System Design & Scope

Simplified P & IDs are generated for each analyzer and ENGlobal writes a scope document to describe the project's desired results.


Detail Design of System

The overall system is designed to meet project requirements. Sample systems are designed and calculations are made to size system components. 


Installation Design

ENGlobal reviews and marks plant plot plans for the location of analyzer houses. Then, utility routings are made and tie-in points are located. ENGlobal completes the installation design by generating detailed drawings for connection points of piping and wiring and any other construction activities required.


System Fabrication

Materials are ordered, received and stored until fabrication begins. ENGlobal performs fabrication and engineering activities in the same location, providing a completely integrated team approach through every step of the process.


Training

ENGlobal offers our clients formal classroom instruction and direct hands-on training pertaining to the operation and maintenance of the analyzer systems.  Sample systems can be demonstrated with flowing air or water in our shop. Additionally, client technicians can participate in analyzer manufacturer inspections and gain immediate experience in startup and calibration of the analyzers.


Testing & Checkout

Prior to the departure from ENGlobal’s facility, all systems are powered up and all utilities are connected to the analyzer system. ENGlobal can provide a simple factory acceptance test or a full performance acceptance test (analyzers are calibrated and tested with charts and printouts kept for permanent benchmarks of system performance). All tests and checkout results are witnessed by the client.  Records are included in the as-built documentation package or data book. 


Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance

ENGlobal can provide complete installation of the analyzer system at the client’s facility. Electrical power, signal wiring, utility piping, sample lines and sample taps are all common elements of an installation. ENGlobal’s analyzer technicians will startup the analyzers and take them through complete commissioning and integration into the plant operations and maintenance programs. On-going maintenance can also be provided.

ENGlobal provides services to support all phases of an analyzer system project. Application of analyzer recommendation, sample point supply and return selection, analyzer building location, analyzer grouping and feasibility support are all important considerations in the beginning of a project.
