Conceptual Design

ENGlobal’s conceptual design services ensure that projects meet the needs of our clients. In order to optimize a project’s success, ENGlobal aligns the project scope, cost, and schedule of the project with the client’s objectives. The conceptual design phase provides the best opportunity to assess the client’s risks and return on investment.

During conceptual design, ENGlobal establishes the project definition of the engineering, procurement, and construction requirements and creates a detailed project estimate. Our services include feasibility studies, project development planning, technology evaluation and recommendations, risk management assessment, constructability reviews, front-end engineering, and asset management over the facility’s life cycle. ENGlobal’s conceptual design services include project development planning, and cost estimates, detail design, procurement, and construction management.

Prepare process flow sheets, heat and material balances, and equipment specifications  
Establish operations and maintenance strategies  
Perform studies to select the option which is most consistent with the client’s goals and objectives  
Prepare mechanical flow diagrams, general design specifications, instrument summaries, specifications for major equipment, preliminary equipment arrangements, preliminary piping line lists, plot plans, and electrical one-lines  
Prepare preliminary project execution plan and project execution schedule  
Identify specialty equipment and material  
Identify long lead procurement items  
Identify licensing and permitting requirements as well as establishing a method for obtaining them  
Establish project control parameters  
Gather estimating data and prepare (+/-) Total Installed Cost (TIC) estimate
